THỪA THIÊN-HUẾ — Thousands of local residents, tourists and artists joined together in the live show Huế By Light, an exceptional sound and light show held at Ngọ Môn (Noon Gate) in Huế City, marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and Việt Nam.

The festival, which was organised in collaboration by the French Embassy in Việt Nam, the Institute of France and the central People's Committee of Thừa Thiên Huế province, has drawn art troupes from the US, France, Korea, Belgium and Việt Nam, including Wallonie-Bruxelles and Grand Poitiers, for different performances over five days.

The Institute of France introduced offices in Huế and Đà Nẵng to boost cultural and educational activities among localities of France and central Việt Nam, as well as tourism from Europe.

France has co-operated with Huế over the past 20 years, since the first Huế Festival was hosted by the province in 2000. VNS
