HÀ NỘI — Can love be found in just 100 hours? That's the question at the heart of Khoảnh Khắc Tình Yêu (Romance Time), a groundbreaking reality dating show set to captivate audiences from this weekend.

Romance Time is the first-ever reality dating show for young Vietnamese expats living in South Korea.

In this unique format, four men and four women will live together in the "Romance House" for five days and four nights, a total of 100 hours.

Over the course of the show, the participants will take part in activities designed to showcase their personalities, attitudes, emotions, and, most importantly, their feelings towards each other.

"Currently, dating shows have been favourite programmes in the world and South Korea. It is also my dream show, recording people's real feelings and love after many years of working," said director Yang Jeong Pil.

"I really want to bring such a show to Việt Nam and hope to receive positive feedback.

"Romance Time is produced based on a new format compared to previous reality dating shows. And as far as I know, it is the first show of its kind for Vietnamese people living abroad broadcasted in Việt Nam," said director Yang.

Members of the Romance Time crew take part in the introduction of the first reality dating show for Vietnamese in South Korea.

The Việt Nam Television Cable Corporation (VTVcab) and South Korean JYN International jointly produced the programme. Through challenges, it is hoped that they will find their true love, and the audience will be curious to guess who will leave the house as a couple in the end.

Speaking at the press conference, Bùi Huy Năm, CEO of the VTVcab, said Romance Time was a strongly invested programme produced by two crews of Việt Nam and South Korea.

"Through the show, we want to bring a new and high-quality programme to the audience, especially the young people," said Năm.

"Romance Time receives good care from the format, script and personnel. It is directed by the famous Yang Jeong Pil, a very well-known director in South Korea.

"I hope that the show will win people's hearts and make a bang when it is broadcasted," he said.

Yang and his colleague Kim Tae Chul are famous for producing leading entertainment programmes in South Korea, such as Star King, Same Bed, Different Dream, Baek Jong-won's Alley Restaurant, and Taxi.

"After filming several dating shows for Koreans and now for the Vietnamese, I have found that there was almost no difference between the young people of the two countries in terms of showing and receiving their feelings and love," Yang told the Việt Nam News.

"Only thing was that it took more time for the Vietnamese to open their hearts for love.

"In this show, because of no script for our participants so, what the audience watched was real acts, words and gestures," he said.

Yang added that the crew tried to catch all of the best and most 'expensive' stages of affairs to bring the audience real happening in 100 hours.

Eight young men and women will seek their perfect partners in the Romance Time.

"We have brought all of our experience and secrets to work on this show. We also tried hard and made our best effort to ensure a good programme. And we are confident about the success of this show and will continue to produce the second and third seasons," Yang said.

Model Jun Vũ and actor and singer Ngô Hải Nam will host the show. Although it is the first time that both of them have worked as a host on a TV show, they have worked perfectly together and contributed important parts to the show.

In addition to their role as hosts, they also play as consultants and challenge deliverers to participants that helped them show off their best.

"All participants are active and have their own personalities. In this show, I saw a lot of dramas in the show that made people either happy or sad. You will see their smile and tears," said MC Hải Nam.

"I strongly believe it will be an emotional show and hope to receive people's support so we can make the next ones better."

The 10-episode Romance Time will premiere on February 18 and will be broadcast on VTV3 every Saturday at 5:5pm and replay on ON Music channel of VTVcab. — VNS
