HCM CITY – The Devotion Awards 2023, which recognise the best in music and sport, were launched by the Vietnam News Agency daily Thể Thao và Văn Hoá (Sport and Culture) on January 4.

This year's awards feature new categories for sports, along with the traditional categories for music, that include best athlete, best young athlete, and sports achievement of the year.

Three of the ten nominees for best athlete are swimmer Nguyễn Huy Hoàng, triathlete Vũ Phương Thanh, and football player Lê Công Vinh.

Fans can vote for the winner in two categories: best athlete and best young athlete, via the Bvote system, starting on January 4.

The music award will keep its tradition of being voted on by cultural journalists in four categories: program of the year, album of the year, producer of the year, and musician of the year.

The winner of the five remaining categories - song, music video, new artist, female and male singers of the year - will be selected by votes from both journalists and music lovers nationwide.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in March. – VNS
