HÀ NỘI — The CP Livestock Joint Stock Company (CP Việt Nam) expects to put a pig slaughter plant into operation at the end of this year in the Phú Nghĩa Industrial Park, Chương Mỹ District, Hà Nội with a total investment of VNĐ450 billion (US$19.3 million).
This is the plant with the largest capacity in the northern region at 4,000 pigs per day. The project is built with production lines using modern technology to produce high quality pork for domestic consumption and export, according to the company.
Vũ Anh Tuấn, CP Việt Nam deputy general director, said with this project, the company expects to reduce intermediaries in trading pork on the domestic market, leading to lower pork price against the present. The current live hog price is about VNĐ93,000-VNĐ95,000 per kilo.
This is the second project of CP Việt Nam in the Phú Nghĩa Industrial Park. The first one is the Hà Nội Meat Processing Factory that has a total slaughtering capacity of 4,000 pigs per day. The first phase of the project will be completed with a capacity of 2,000 pigs per day at the end of this year.
CP Việt Nam is one of the 15 large livestock enterprises in Việt Nam which has been requested to reduce live hog price to VNĐ70,000 per kilo by the Prime Minister to stabilise the domestic pork market. — VNS
