HCM CITY — Kobiton, a US-based mobile testing platform with an R&D team in Việt Nam, has successfully raised US$5.2 million in new capital to continue growing its mobile app experience business.
The round was led by BIP Capital, one of the most active and successful venture investors in the US’s south-east.
Following this successful series A round, Kobiton will focus on marketing, customer support and development.
Last year it successfully raised $3 million in seed funding from Kinetic Ventures.
The company was launched in 2016 by UpStar Labs, the start-up incubation arm of KMS Technology, a software development and testing company.
Kobiton’s mobile app testing platform improves the quality of mobile apps, resulting in better user experiences and improved app store ratings, by offering manual and automated testing on real devices, in the cloud or on-premise.
“Organisations are finding it challenging to adopt mobile test automation at scale,” Dan Drechsel, BIP Capital’s senior vice president, said.
"The unique requirements of utilising real devices, coupled with the complexity of developing test automation scripts, has allowed, up to now, only the most sophisticated organisations to tackle this challenge," he said.
Kobiton CEO Kevin Lee said: “This investment validates our momentum and accelerates go-to-market for our new AI scriptless Appium automation technology.” —VNS
