HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc on Thursday signed a decision to remove Nguyễn Quốc Khánh as chairman of the board of directors of PetroVietnam to enable his transfer to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The Minister of Industry and Trade will assign specific tasks for Khánh.
The Prime Minister also agreed to appoint Nguyễn Vũ Trường Sơn, member of the board of directors-cum-general director of PetroVietnam, to temporarily perform the duties of chairman of the board of directors until a new appointment is announced.
Meanwhile, the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) announced its decision to appoint Huỳnh Quang Liêm to the group’s deputy general director for five years beginning March 1.
At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tâm said, with his experience and capacity, Liêm would help develop VNPT in the future and realise the goal of making the company to the top of the country’s IT and communications market. — VNS
