Việt Nam participates in the 4th India-CLMV

Vietnamese delegations from several provinces are visiting India to attend the 4th India-CLMV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Việt Nam) Business Conclave in Jaipur, Rajasthan from February 27-28, following the invitation of the government of India and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

HCM CITY —  Vietnamese delegations from several provinces are visiting India to attend the 4th India-CLMV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Việt Nam) Business Conclave in Jaipur, Rajasthan from February 27-28, following the invitation of the government of India and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Vietnamese participants include Nguyễn Văn Trâm, chairman of Bình Phước Province People’s Committee, Lưu Xuân Vĩnh, chairman of Ninh Thuận Province People’s Committee, Nguyễn Đức Hoàng, vice chairman of Gia Lai People’s Committee, Phạm Anh Tuấn, vice chairman of Tiền Giang People’s Committee, and officers of the HCM City Department of Industry and Trade and many Vietnamese business executives.

The major areas of interest for the delegates are in hi-tech agriculture, horticulture, seafood, processing industry, construction, infrastructure, education, renewable energy and energy efficiency. 

Prior to the trip, the Consulate General of India in HCM City held business interactions with Vietnamese delegates in HCM City on February 24-25. 

Themed “Economic Integration: Way Forward for Sustainable Development,” the 4th India-CLMV Business Conclave is a two-day programme which will consist of sectoral sessions, country sessions and business-to-business meetings and will focus on sectors such as pharma, healthcare, agribusiness, food processing, infrastructure, gems and jewellery, textiles, mining, leather and renewable energy.

According to the consulate, Indian companies are exploring investment possibilities in Vietnamese provinces like Sóc Trăng, Ninh Thuận and Bìinh Thuận. 

One of the biggest Indian conglomerates, the TATA group, is investing in several areas including thermal power, coffee and hi-tech machinery in different provinces, while others are entering a stable business environment and taking advantage of preferential policies offered by Việt Nam.

The visit of the Vietnamese delegation is expected to open several new vistas of co-operation between Việt Nam and India and bring in more Indian companies to the expanding Việt Nam market. — VNS
