HÀ NỘI — The Green Nestera social housing project in Tây Ninh Province’s Hậu Nghĩa Commune officially started construction on December 7.
The project, which is funded by Green City Development Joint Stock Company and developed by MIK Group, has a total investment of nearly VNĐ900 billion (US$34 million).
It includes eight apartment buildings with a total of nearly 1,500 apartments, providing accommodation for nearly 2,300 people, most of whom will be local workers.
The project also has a favourable location, with a convenient connection to HCM City and key areas in Tây Ninh Province.
At the ground-breaking ceremony, Chairman of Tây Ninh Provincial People's Committee Lê Văn Hẳn said that the social housing project in the Hậu Nghĩa New Urban Area not only solves the urgent need for worker housing but also contributes to creating modern urban areas in harmony with infrastructure, services and the environmental landscape.
According to the People's Committee of Tây Ninh Province, to implement the Government's goal of investing in the construction of at least one million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the next five years, the province has approved a social housing development plan that would see the construction of 83,100 apartments by 2030.
The province has so far designated 79 land plots with a total area of more than 598 hectares for social housing development. These locations would meet the province's baseline goal for social housing up to 2030.
Construction of 11 projects totalling 4,358 apartments has already been completed. Meanwhile, 32 social housing projects in the province have been approved for investment and are expected to be completed by 2030, with a total area of over 241 hectares, providing more than 47,100 apartments. — BIZHUB/VNS
