HÀ NỘI — Hưng Yên Province has reinforced its position as one of the most dynamic economies in the Red River Delta, recording remarkable achievements in investment attraction, infrastructure development and business formation in the first half of this year.

According to the provincial People’s Committee, the province granted licences to 213 new projects and approved capital adjustments for 193 existing ones, with total investment exceeding VNĐ118.6 trillion (US$4.63 billion).

As of the end of June, Hưng Yên was home to 3,888 valid projects, including 890 foreign-invested projects with total registered capital of $16.05 billion. The province also welcomed 4,313 newly established enterprises, up 65 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Industrial production and services continue to drive economic growth, supported by the expansion of modern industrial parks and high-tech clusters.

The province is expediting 18 key projects, comprising five major transport works, one large-scale industrial park, seven industrial clusters, four residential projects and a thermal power plant.

Efforts have been made to accelerate site clearance, ensure the availability of construction materials and simplify administrative procedures to maintain progress.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Khắc Thận said the province is committed to creating a transparent and competitive investment environment, with a focus on high-value sectors such as advanced manufacturing, renewable energy and high-tech agriculture.

“Hưng Yên is determined to optimise its resources, improve administrative efficiency, and promote sustainable development in line with the country’s overall growth orientation,” he said.

With its strategic location between Hà Nội and Hải Phòng, Hưng Yên enjoys convenient transport connections, enabling it to attract both domestic and foreign investors.

The province has also prioritised human resources training to meet the needs of enterprises, particularly in industries requiring skilled labour.

Local authorities expect that the province’s growth momentum will continue in the coming months, making a significant contribution to the Red River Delta’s economic expansion and further solidifying Hưng Yên’s role as an economic bright spot in the region. — VNS
