BÀ RỊA-VŨNG TÀU — Tân Cảng - Cái Mép International Terminal (TCIT) in Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu on February 17 welcomed the arrival of the ONE EAGLE, a 14,000 TEU vessel operating on the newly launched EC3 service, one of the four main routes of the Premier Alliance.
The EC3 service alongside PS3, FP2, and MS2, connects Việt Nam with key markets in North America and Europe.
The Premier Alliance’s strategic decision to continue designating TCIT as its home port and trusted destination in Cái Mép after its restructuring marks a crucial step in realising its long-term goals and vision.
The Premier Alliance, established from the strategic restructuring of the former THE Alliance, comprises three major shipping lines: ONE (Ocean Network Express), HMM, and Yang Ming.
Officially commencing operations in February 2025, this alliance represents a significant transformation in the global container shipping industry.
The alliance was formed with key strategic objectives, including optimizing capacity, improving cost efficiency, expanding market coverage, and enhancing service reliability.
With a fleet of over 300 container vessels and a total capacity of 3 million TEUs, it has deployed 24 dedicated service routes, primarily covering the Asia-Europe, Trans-Pacific, and Mediterranean trades.
Colonel Trương Tấn Lộc, chairman of TCIT, said from February this year, TCIT has witnessed major transformations as global shipping alliances, including Premier, implement new strategies, redefining the global maritime landscape.
“We firmly believe that the decision of Premier Alliance carriers to continue selecting TCIT as their home port at Cái Mép – Thị Vải following the restructuring is a strategic move that enables TCIT to contribute towards the alliance's vision and objectives in this new era.”

Shotaro Ikeda, CEO of ONE Vietnam, said moving forward, ONE and its partners are committed to strengthening their collaboration with TCIT to provide world-class shipping services.
“This could foster Việt Nam’s trade with key global markets, and create greater value for our customers,” he said.
TCIT now handles 10 weekly international service routes, directly connecting Việt Nam to key markets in North America, Europe, and Asia.
With its role as a deep-sea container terminal and international transshipment hub, it is planning further investments and expansion in post-terminal logistics services, including Depots and Inland Container Depots (ICDs) in the Cái Mép area.
This development aims to offer comprehensive logistics solutions and value-added services, effectively meeting the evolving needs of shipping lines and import-export enterprises. — VNS
