Deputy PM attends exhibition, trade event in China

Over one hundred Vietnamese businesses take part in the trade exhibition, with 200 booths showcasing quality goods and services that leverage Việt Nam’s strengths.

NANNING — Deputy Prime Minister Hồ Đức Phớc led a Vietnamese delegation to attend the opening ceremony of the 21st China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the China-ASEAN Trade and Investment Summit (CABIS) on Tuesday.

The events take place in the capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in China, Nanning.

The exhibition space covered nearly 200,000 square metres of the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center, attracting nearly 3,000 businesses.

One hundred and twenty Vietnamese companies signed up to CAEXPO, with 200 booths showcasing quality goods and services that leverage Việt Nam’s strengths to meet the demands and preferences of the Chinese market and ASEAN partners.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy PM Phớc said: “As an active and responsible member of ASEAN and a comprehensive strategic partner of China, Việt Nam has been coordinating and will continue to closely coordinate with ASEAN, China and other partners to promote new growth drivers and contribute to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between ASEAN and China.”

He highlighted four priority areas for China-ASEAN cooperation, which are to promote balanced and sustainable trade cooperation, strengthen strategic development and connectivity, enhance high-quality investment, and increase people-to-people exchanges and cultural cooperation.

The Deputy PM also attended the inauguration of the Vietnamese booths and toured exhibits of products from Việt Nam.

At the expo there were displays of the latest developments and technical advancements in emerging fields such as digital technology, green and low-carbon technologies, new energy and smart connectivity vehicles.

At a designated high-tech ASEAN exhibition area, achievements from Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, with the United Arab Emirates as a special partner, were showcased — VNS
