With the slogan, “Bring Wonders to Life”, from the beginning of its operation in the Vietnamese market, Shinhan Life has always promoted the parallel between business development and social responsibility initiatives in order to realise the goal of improving the quality of life for Vietnamese families. The nation’s future generation is the emphasis of the community projects that Shinhan Life has been and will be implementing in the near future.

Supporting underprivileged youngsters toward a better future

Corporate social responsibility enhancement initiatives are always one of Shinhan Life's priorities when operating in Việt Nam, according to Mr. Bae Seung Jun, Deputy General Director of Shinhan Life Vietnam.

"We want to contribute to the sustainable development of future generations, not only by providing basic necessities, but also by creating conditions in which they can develop comprehensively, take control of their lives, and contribute to society as useful citizens."

During its first year of operation in Việt Nam, Shinhan Life conducted meaningful educational programmes for underprivileged youngsters. Recently, Shinhan Life Vietnam cooperated with BNJ Vietnam to implement the iLead education programme for teenagers at SOS Children's Village Vietnam.

This is the programme to train SOS Children's Village Vietnam youth between the ages of 15 and 25 about the values of leadership in Dr. John C. Maxwell's iLead Leadership Values programme, carried out within the framework of the YouthCan! program by SOS Children's Villages International - Partnership for Youth Employability. Under the program, children could discover and develop themselves, and enhance their self-leadership qualities, thereby increasing their capacity to integrate into society and the job market with ease.

Moreover, Shinhan Life Vietnam creates opportunities for skills training, internships, and jobs in the future for students with suitable aspirations and capabilities.

According to Mr. Bae Seung Jun, this is a long-term community project, starting in 2023 and lasting until 2025 at SOS Children's Villages Vietnam.

Many charity programmes for pediatric patients

In addition to funding long-term educational initiatives for young people, Shinhan Life also engages in charity activities and shares with disadvantaged children being treated at the hospital.

On the occasion of International Children's Day (June 1) this year, members of the Board of Directors and staff of the company visited and presented gifts to pediatric patients at Children's Hospital 2, HCM City. The company donated 1,300 lunch sets to patients and their families, and 200 gifts were distributed to children being treated at the hospital's oncology department.

In 2022, the company supported a total of VNĐ300 million worth of treatment fees for pediatric patients in difficult circumstances being treated at the Clinical Hematology Department, the City Children's Hospital (HCMC).
