HCM CITY — Six teams participated in the final round of Diễn Đàn Doanh Nghiệp (Enterprise Forum) newspaper’s start-up competition in HCM City on Wednesday.

The competition, which began one year ago, attracted young people and university students from 27 provinces and cities. Many youth and university students from remote provinces took part for the first time, including from Lai Châu, Tuyên Quang, Lạng Sơn, Kon Tum, Lầm Đồng, Bến Tre and Vĩnh Long.

The six top teams were selected for the final after two rounds. They are from APPA Group, HCM City University of Science, HCM City University of Economics and Law, the Western Construction University, Bến Tre University, Kon Tum University, and Đại Nam University.

According to organisers, this year’s entries focused on innovation and modern technologies.

Chu Anh Tuấn, director of Aptech, an IT training company, said: “The competition this year received many practical projects. There are many teams introducing projects in which they use big data and the internet of things.”

The winners would be announced next month at the 2019 Start-up Festival in Hà Nội and investment would be solicited in their start-ups.

The contest is a part of the National Start-up Programme.

Many national start-up competitions would be organised next year with new contents to attract more entries, the organisers said. — VNS
