HÀ NỘI — The world’s leading tobacco group Philip Morris International (PMI) wants to learn more about the strategic vision of Việt Nam’s Government for equitisation of the Việt Nam National Tobacco Corporation (Vinataba).

The statement was made by Stacey Kennedy, president of South and Southeast Asia Region at Philip Morris International, at a meeting with leaders of the Committee for Management of State Capital (CMSC) held in Hà Nội on Monday.

According to Kennedy, PMI wants to discuss the value that PMI brings when the firm is selected as a strategic investor in the equitisation process of Vinataba.

Hồ Sỹ Hùng, deputy chairman of CMSC, affirmed that the Committee always welcomes foreign investors investing into Việt Nam, especially enterprises under the management of CMSC such as Vinataba. — VNS
