CẦN THƠ — The Việt Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s branch in Cần Thơ Province (VCCI Cần Thơ) debuted the Information Technology (IT) Mekong Club on Thursday.
VCCI Cần Thơ said the club is designed to enhance co-operation between IT enterprises and promote IT development in the region.
Nguyễn Phương Lam, VCCI Cần Thơ’s Deputy Director, said IT is more important than ever in the era of Industry 4.0 and the digital economy.
The region is focusing on developing IT into a spearhead industry. In 2017, the Government gave the green light to the development of a 20.3-hectare Cửu Long (Mekong) River Delta IT Zone with a total investment of VNĐ174.6 billion (US $7.6 million). — VNS
