HCM CITY — SCG, a Southeast Asian conglomerate with interests in cement-building materials, chemicals and packaging, has announced plans for intensive training for its future leaders in Việt Nam.
Last week it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Asia Institute of Technology Vietnam (AITVN) for training its young managers.
The training will cover business concept development and leadership to provide them with an understanding of business concepts and the knowledge to leverage leadership skills.
It also underlined that partnerships between the business sector and academia are important to develop quality human resources for the country.
Montri Mahaplerkpong, vice president of SCG Vietnam, said: “SCG has striven to enhance the competency of its people through education and training, preparing them for a sustainable future.
“In Việt Nam, this is the first time SCG is collaborating with a university to provide training to its managers.
“The training partner, AITVN, is a prestigious institute in Việt Nam with a high reputation in corporate training.
“Together, we will design an efficient programme to quickly enhance the business knowledge and soft skills of our managers, making them quality leaders for the organisation and country.”
The training consists of nine modules developed to meet local employees’ need for practical business skills.
The participating managers are expected to improve their understanding of business concepts and economic and business laws, and be able to lead organisations and teams effectively. — VNS
