HÀ NỘI — InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula resort has been honoured by the World Travel Awards (WTA) as the World’s Leading Luxury Resort.

Winning the prestigious award for the fourth consecutive year, at a ceremony held in Phú Quc on December 10, the resort also set a new world record.

Alongside the grand award, the resort also won three additional accolades for its La Maison 1888, for being the World’s Leading Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant 2017 and its HARNN Heritage Spa for being voted as Asia’s Best Resort Spa 2017 and Vit Nam’s Best Resort Spa 2017.

“This is a huge recognition for our team, and together with our owners at Sun Group and as part of the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), we remain dedicated to delivering the highest levels of excellence in service and towards creating unforgettable memories for guests who choose our resort as their preferred residence,” said Juan Losada, the resort’s General Manager.

The annual award is heralded as the travel industry’s equivalent to “The Oscars” by The Wall Street Journal. Into its 24th year, the WTA was launched to celebrate organisations that push the boundaries of industry excellence, and is acknowledged across the globe as the ultimate travel and tourism accolade.

With the goal of delivering its promise “Where Myth Meets Luxury,” the resort has held numerous high-profile international and domestic events and it continues to redefine luxury resort experience worldwide. Most recently, the resort was chosen to host the flagship event, the APEC Economic Leaders Meeting 2017 and welcomed 21 heads of government, including the presidents of the United States of America and Russia and the Prime Minister of Canada. — VNS
