HCM CITY — The Saigon Union of Trading Co-operatives (Saigon Co.op) and VietinBank have signed an agreement to leverage their respective strengths to benefit tens of millions of customers.

VietinBank will offer Saigon Co.op modern banking services, financing for its projects, working capital, cash flow management, collection, payroll and card payment services, and others.

At the signing event the two sides launched a co-branded card, Visa Paywave, the contactless card that works by just waving it in front of a reader.

The card would offer customers greater convenience and enhance the development of non-cash payments by reducing the risks involved in cash payment, Diệp Dũng, Saigon Co.op’s chairman, said.

The new card will also integrate the supermarket’s membership card.

Thus, cardholders will enjoy the benefits of Co.op’s loyalty programme, including accumulation of points, discounts on purchases as well as Tết (Lunar New Year) and birthday gifts, as well as discount programmes organised regularly by Saigon Co.op, VietinBank and Visa. — VNS
