The new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, in a vibrant red aluminum finish, were available nationwide from Monday.

The new red smartphones have identical features to other iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus products, which were launched in September 2016.

With the introduction of the products, Apple adds a new colour to the iPhone 7 collection besides Jet Black, Black, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold.

The new products come with 128GB and 256GB storage capacities. The 4.7-inch red iPhone 7 is being sold at prices of VNĐ21.69 million (US$964) and VNĐ24.59 million for the 128GB and 256GB version, respectively.

Retailer Thế Giới Di Động (Mobile World) also started selling the new iPhone models on Monday. More than 1,000 preorders had been placed, including 600 customers who paid deposits to snap up the latest smartphone, the Thời báo Tài chính Việt Nam (Vietnam Financial Times) reported.

To attract customers, the two retailers are also offering promotions such as coupons worth VNĐ1.7 million each for customers who pay upfront, and zero per cent interest rates for those paying by installments.

The new iPhone models have been produced in recognition of the 10 year partnership between Apple and (RED). This gives customers an unprecedented way to contribute to the Global Fund to support HIV/AIDS programmes, and bring the world a step closer to an AIDS-free generation. — VNS
