Buenos Aires — Representatives from the Trade Office of the Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina this week had a working session with leaders of the Coto Group to explore opportunities for Vietnamese products to enter the South America country’s leading supermarket chain.
Phạm Hồng Trang, head of the office, said Coto products range from household appliances to handicrafts. This is a golden opportunity for Vietnamese goods to enter the Argentinean market.
Once Vietnamese products are sold in Coto markets, it will help increase two-way trade, she said.
Meanwhile, President of Coto Group Alfredo Coto said he wanted Vietnamese products on his supermarkets’ shelves.
Coto is interested in imports like household appliances, electronic products, handicrafts, wood furniture and coffee, he added.
Coto is a chain of supermarkets and hypermarkets, established in Argentina in 1987. It is now one of the leading retailers in Argentina with over 120 branches and 20 others under construction nationwide.
To date, the group has a 30.1 per cent retail market share in Buenos Aires and 18.3 per cent in the whole country.— VNS
