HÀ NỘI — Two-wheel major Yamaha Motor Việt Nam is recalling 888 Yamaha YZF-R3s, a supersport motorcycle manufactured by Yamaha since 2015.

The company will check and replace the fuel tank bracket and main switch sub-assembly upon finding the defect in the vehicle.

According to the Vietnam Competition Authority, the recall campaign is applicable for sports bikes in the Vietnamese market which were manufactured from June 4, 2015 to October 31, 2016.

Check, repair and replacement of the vehicles will be conducted at all Yamaha agents nationwide. Relevant costs will be paid by Yamaha.

The campaign, which began on February 23 and ends on August 23, is being carried out after customers complained of a petrol trace leaking from under the motorcycle’s fuel tank. They also said sometimes the engine failed to start while other times it broke down while running. — VNS
