HCM City – Viettel Group’s Customer Insights product won a bronze award in the research and development category at the ASEAN ICT Awards 2016 in Brunei late last week.
This was the first time a Vietnamese product won in Big Data. Viettel Group’s Customer Insights won over 100 other products from Southeast Asia to enter the round of 18 finalists. The final round was organised in late August in Myanmar.
The system was built with the Real-Time Big Data Analytics Platform, which classifies and analyses telecommunications customers’ consumption activities.
This helps companies make business decisions in telecommunications, e-commerce and advertising.
Customer Insights, which was set up in 2013, helped Viettel become the first Vietnamese company with a Big Data application. It supports Viettel customers and offers telecommunication packages based on each person’s needs.
This year, Vietnamese company Early Start with its Monkey Junior software won a gold award in the Start-ups category.
“I’m very proud of Việt Nam winning awards this year. This has showed the country’s great potential in the ICT industry,” Nguyễn Thành Hưng, deputy minister of the Information and Telecommunications, said.
