ĐẮK LẮK – Police in the Central Highland province of Đắk Lắk has detained and launched criminal probes into 14 officials of Krông Bông District Branch of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development for deliberately violating State regulations. on economic management.

The detainees included Trần Thị Bích Hồng, 57, deputy director of the branch, and 13 other bank officials.

The police conducted a raid at the branch of the bank.

Previously, former official of the bank, Chu Ngọc Hải, had been arrested for allegedly counterfeiting documents to appropriate property.

Colonel Nguyễn Trọng Hà, head of the Provincial Police Department for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption, said initial investigation showed that since 2015 until being arrested, Hải had received over 500 documents to loan more than VNĐ100 billion.

Of that, Hải counterfeited many documents for the purpose of withdrawing money from the bank and appropriating it for personal use.

On August 2, the Provincial Police Department for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption detained Ngô Quốc Vinh, 56, former director of the bank, for violating State regulations on economic management, causing serious consequences.

On October 6, the police arrested four more officials of the bank, including Tôn Đắc Hải, former deputy director, Lê Thị Hồng Loan, former chief accountant, Nguyễn Thị Hiền, former head of the credit department, and Đỗ Hoàng Nguyên, deputy head of the credit deparment for the same crime. – VNS
