HCM CITY — The Ladies Professional Golf Association’s (LPGA) world-class female golfers, Airya Jutanugarn (May) and her sister Moriya Jutanugarn (Mo), will visit Việt Nam in December.

This is the sisters’ first visit to Việt Nam. “This event is the most anticipated one amongst golf fans as the Thai sisters are considered to be the world’s golf phenomenons and an ASEAN miracle,” the event’s organiser, Thailand’s SCG Group, said in a statement.

May became the first ASEAN golfer ranked by LPGA as the world’s number 1 in June 2017 when she was only 22, and Mo is currently a rising star with an impressive performance in Manulife LPGA Classic.

During their two-day trip to Việt Nam from December 1 to 2, the Thai sisters will conduct golf training for 20 Vietnamese talented junior golfers from the ages of 10 to 16 years, in an exclusive “Inspirational Golf Training” co-organised by the Hà Nội Department of Culture and Sports and SCG.

“Furthermore, with their inspiring stories on conquering the world’s top ranking, the sisters will surely inspire Vietnamese youth about passion, mental power and ambition to fulfill their dreams,” SCG said.

SCG has been operating in Việt Nam since 1992, and has supported human development of the country through education and sports. In terms of sports, the group is officially sponsoring the Hà Nội Football Club in the season 2017-18. Besides, the company has facilitated world class training for potential badminton players of HCM City via sports science. — VNS
