BẾN TRE – A fair showcasing agro-industrial products was opened on Wednesday in southern Bến Tre Province by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and local People’s Committee.

Some 120 organisations and enterprises displayed their products at 300 pavilions, including 42 pavilions of enterprises in Bến Tre Province and 163 pavilions of enterprises in other southern provinces, such as An Giang, Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu, Bình Dương and Bạc Liêu, as well as Bình Thuận, Cà Mau, Long An, Kiên Giang and Tiền Giang.

Nguyễn Hữu Lập, deputy chairman of the People’s Committee of Bến Tre Province, said the province offered 15 typical agro-industrial products, including the coconut-wood teapot from Trường Ngân Enterprise; coconut jelly from Trần Minh Tâm Enterprise; coconut candy from Đông Á General Production and Business Co. Ltd,; and the custard-apple cocktail from Thanh Bình Food and Drink Production and Trade Co Ltd, in addition to the coconut mask 2-in-1 product from Cửu Long Coconut Product Processing Co Ltd and the coir thread from Liên Thành Coconut Trade, Production, Export and Import Co Ltd.

Ngô Quang Trung, head of the Department of Local Industry, said the fair would showcase the developmental achievements of local industries, introduce the agro-industrial products of the South and create conditions for enhancing industrial and trade promotion activities.

The fair creates opportunities to advertise brands, expand markets and establish investment and trade co-operation for rural industrial enterprises and companies in Bến Tre and other provinces and cities.

This was the first time Bến Tre had opened such a fair in honor of the typical industrial products of the agricultural sector.

The fair is scheduled to end next Tuesday. — VNS
