HÀ NỘI — Javier Sarda Perez of HCM City won the HCM City Television Cycling Tournament which ended yesterday.
Lê Ngọc Sơn of Lộc Trời Group won the last stage from Bảo Lộc City in Lâm Đồng Province to HCM City on 163km, clocking 4hr 0.57min.
It was his second stage win in this tournament.
Trần Nguyễn Minh Trí of Domesco Đồng Tháp and Nguyễn Minh Đức of Bình Dương came second and third, respectively.
Spaniard Perez was in the second group to cross the finish line but it was enough for him to take the overall win. He completed nearly 2,100km of 18 stages with a total time of 54:37.12.
He was followed by Nguyễn Tấn Hoài of Domesco Đồng Tháp and his teammate Nguyễn Thắng.
Perez also won the red polka dot jersey for the King of Mountain.
Speaking after his victory, he said the yellow and red polka dot jerseys will be auctioned to help poor kids in Đà Nẵng.
Hoài secured the green jersey for the best cyclist in terms of points, while Nguyễn Văn Bình of HCM City was the best young rider.
HCM City also topped the team rankings, leaving Domesco Đồng Tháp and Bikelife Đồng Nai behind. — VNS
