HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s national stadium Mỹ Đình has been listed as one of the top five venues in ASEAN by the Asian Football Confederation.

The 40,000-seat stadium was inaugurated in 2003 within the National Sport Complex campus, about 10km west of Hà Nội's centre.

Mỹ Đình has hosted many sport events including the 22nd Southeast Asian Games in Việt Nam in 2003, the Asian Cup in 2007 and the AFF Cup second-leg final in 2018.

The multi-purpose stadium will also be a key venue for the 31st SEA Games late next year.

Other stadiums included in the list are Stadium Australia (Sydney, Australia), Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (Jakarta, Indonesia), National Stadium (Bukit Jalil, Malaysia) and Rajamangala Stadium (Bangkok, Thailand).  VNS
