GIA LAI — HCM City triumphed in the National Top Clubs Taekwondo Championship which concluded in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai on Wednesday.
In the men’s combat category, HCM City topped the medal tally with nine golds, three silvers and three bronzes. Quảng Nam were runners-up with three golds, three silvers and two bronzes. Hosts Gia Lai finished third with three golds and one bronze.
On the women’s side, Bình Định won with five golds and one bronze, followed by Bình Dương and Nghệ An.
In the performance event, HCM City scored eight golds, four silvers and one bronze, leaving behind the runners-up An Giang (four golds) and Vĩnh Long (two golds).
The event drew nearly 800 athletes and coaches from 48 teams across the country, competing for 82 sets of medals in various age groups.
The event’s best players will be selected for the national team to compete in upcoming international tournaments. — VNS
