Vietnamese fans had the chance to meet five football legends at Tiger Street Football 2019, the biggest street football tournament in Southeast Asia, held in HCM City on Sunday.

HCM City — Vietnamese fans had the chance to meet five football legends at Tiger Street Football 2019, the biggest street football tournament in Southeast Asia, held in HCM City on Sunday.

The legends were international football star and former Manchester United captain Rio Ferdinand; Chelsea legend and former Ivory Coast national team captain Didier Drogba; Park Ji-sung of South Korean football fame and a former Manchester United midfielder; and Portuguese legend Luis Figo and Brazilian star Roberto Carlos, both former players of Real Madrid.

Rio Ferdinand, Tiger Street Football 2019 Ambassador, said he was very eager to take part in the event to inspire raw football talents in Southeast Asia to provide them with opportunities to shine.

After that, the five football legends formed a team of six with Vietnamese national team goalkeeper Đặng Văn Lâm and played against the champions of Tiger Street Football 2019, Đạt Vĩnh Tiến.

The Tiger Street Football tournament started in May 11 in 20 cities and provinces in the country.

The final round, with 14 teams, took place on June 21 - 23. The winner, Đạt Vĩnh Tiến won VNĐ100 million (US$4,300) and had the chance to play the all-time legends. — VNS
