HÀ NỘI — The National Table Tennis Championship is scheduled to be held in the city of Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa Province, on May 20-26.

The event will attract the participation of 146 players from 16 organisations across the country.

This year’s championship is expected to bring many exciting matches for the enjoyment of table tennis fans.

Excluding the unexpected absence of reigning women’s singles champion Nguyễn Thị Nga of Hà Nội due to injury, the 2019 competition will bring together most of the country’s leading players, including Nguyễn Anh Tú, Đinh Quang Linh, Đoàn Bá Tuấn Anh, Mai Hoàng Mỹ Trang and Nguyễn Khoa Diệu Khánh.

They will be challenged by promising young talents such as Lê Đình Đức, Bùi Văn Đức and Phạm Thu Hương.

The players will compete for seven sets of medals in the singles, doubles and team events for both men and women, and in the mixed doubles category.

In addition, the organising committee will present prizes to the best young male and female players.

The event’s best players will be selected for the national team to compete in the Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines later this year. — VNS
