HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam will face Japan in Group J of the AFC U19 Championship 2020 Qualifiers, according to the official draw ceremony at the AFC House on Thursday.

Besides Japan, Việt Nam will compete alongside Mongolia and Guam.

A total of 46 member associations will battle it out in the qualifiers divided into two zones of WEST (West + South + Central) with 25 teams and EAST (East + ASEAN) with 21 teams.

The 11 group winners and four best second-placed teams among all groups shall qualify to the finals alongside the hosts, who will receive automatic qualification.

The qualifiers will be played on November 2-10.

Meanwhile, Việt Nam U16 team are in Group H with Australia, Macau of China, Timor Leste and Mongolia in the AFC U16 Championship 2020 Qualifiers to be held on September 14-22.

Vietnamese U16 players will be selected from the final round of National U15 Championship next month. — VNS
