MINSK – From June 21 to June 30, the Republic of Belarus will host the second European Games – an international multi-sport competition between athletes from across the European continent held every four years under the direction of the European Olympic Committee.

The games will see more than 4,000 athletes from 50 countries compete for 199 sets of medals in 15 sports. Winners in eight of the sports will automatically qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games.

The forthcoming second European Games will be held under the motto “Bright Year, Bright You”.

From June 10 to July 10, 2019 fans can enter Belarus under a special visa-free programme. Guests can stay in the country for up to 30 days. To qualify for the programme, visitors must bring tickets for the event as well as a valid passport, a medical travel insurance policy and financial means of at least 20 euros per day.

For Vietnamese citizens who do not have a valid multi-entrance visa to the EU states or the Schengen zone with a stamp confirming they have crossed the border of one of the states, it is necessary to apply for a visa in the authorised Belarusian diplomatic mission.

The visa procedure is free of charge for all Vietnamese applicants who have already purchased tickets for the European Games. In addition, from June 10 to July 10, Belarusian visas will allow transit though the Russian Federation without a dedicated Russian transit visa. – VNS
