HÀ NỘI — Top Vietnamese cueist Trần Quyết Chiến won the final of the three-cushion billiards Asian Carom Championship 2019, which concluded on Thursday at Nguyễn Du Gymnasium in Hồ Chí Minh City.

Chiến came from behind to beat South Korean cueist Cho Myung Woo, 27th in the world ranking, 40-38.

Before the break, Cho led by a score of 20-16 and continued to increase the gap. Cho only managed to score six points while Chiến padded to lead to 38-22.

However, Chiến managed a surprise turnaround to win 40-38.

This is the first time Chiến has won the tournament after many missed chances. Last May, Chiến became the first Vietnamese cueist to win the World Cup in Hồ Chí Minh City.

Chiến continues to set national records for billiards. He is now number three in the world raking as he prepared for the next World Cup, to be held in Hồ Chí Minh City on May.
