HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam lost to the Netherlands in the quarter-finals of the ongoing three-cushion billiards tournament the German 1st Bundesliga on Sunday.

Việt Nam, with two players in the world top ten Trần Quyết Chiến and Nguyễn Quốc Nguyện, faced world number one Disk Jaspers from the Netherlands.

They took the early advantage with a lead of 16-6, but Jaspers and his partner pegged them back to 20-20.

Chiến and Nguyện fought back to 32-23, but with a slice of luck and resolve the Netherlands triumphed 40-35 for a place in the semi-finals.

This is the second time Việt Nam has reached the quarter-finals in ten attempts. — VNS
