HÀ NỘI — Nguyễn Thị Oanh secured her second gold medal and second record at the ongoing National Sports Games in Hà Nội.
Yesterday, Oanh came first in the women’s 5,000m race with a time of 16min 35.30sec, setting a new Games record.
On Wednesday, the Southeast Asian Games champion won in the 1,500m event and also pocketed a record.
Oanh’s record was one of three set in the fourth day of track-and-field competitions.
Other record setters were Nguyễn Văn Hùng in the men’s triple jump (16.27m) and Phan Thị Diễm of Hậu Giang in the women’s high jump (1.87m).
Lê Tú Chinh earned her third gold in the women’s 200m and Ngần Ngọc Nghĩa completed his double in the men’s 200m.
In gymnastics, five golds were presented yesterday. HCM City and the Military won two each while Hà Nội took the rest.
Hà Nội maintained its place on top of the medal tally with 70 golds. HCM City and the Military were second and third, respectively. — VNS
