Việt Nam have won five golds at the ongoing Southeast Asian Shooting Championships in China.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam have won five golds at the ongoing Southeast Asian Shooting Championships in China.

Trần Quốc Cường brought home the first gold in the men’s 50m pistol with 539 points.

Cường paired with Nguyễn Đình Thành and Phạm Quang Huy to earn the gold medal in the men’s team 50m pistol.

Meanwhile, Phạm Thị Hà overcame her teammate Lê Thị Linh Chi to take gold medal in the women’s sport pistol with 30 points.

The other two golds went to 18-year-old Iwaki Ai, a young shooter of Vietnamese and Japanese heritage, in the women’s 10m air rifle and trio Bùi Hồng Phong, Phan Xuân Chuyên and Phan Công Minh in the men’s team 25m pistol with 1,681 points.

Việt Nam also bagged three silvers and three bronzes. They are second at the medal tally, behind Singapore who have one more silver medal.

Việt Nam sent 25 shooters to the event which will last until October 31. — VNS
