Nam and Khánh win at Vietnam F4 Futures

Việt Nam’s top tennis pair Lý Hoàng Nam and Lê Quốc Khánh defeated Congsup Congcar and Kaliyanda Poonacha on the third day of the Việt Nam F4 Futures – Hải Đăng Cup 2018, held late Monday evening at the Hải Đăng tennis complex stadium in Tây Ninh Province.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s top tennis pair Lý Hoàng Nam and Lê Quốc Khánh defeated Congsup Congcar and Kaliyanda Poonacha on the third day of the Việt Nam F4 Futures – Hải Đăng Cup 2018, held late Monday evening at the Hải Đăng tennis complex stadium in Tây Ninh Province.  

In the men’s doubles, Khánh’s experience helped host Tây Ninh win 6-4 in the first set. Nam and Khánh overcame Congcar from Thailand and Poonacha from India 6-0 in the second set and became the first pair to enter the quarter-final.

However, another pair Vietnamese-American Timothy Toàn Phụng and Brandon Perez from Venezuela were beaten by higher rated French Florian Lakat and Swedish Filip Bergevi 0-6, 4-6.

Matches continue today with Việt Nam’s golden hope Nam, 497 in the ATP ranking, meeting Hoàng Thành Trung in the men’s singles. Meanwhile, Trịnh Linh Giang will face Poonacha.

In the men’s doubles, Giang and Bùi Trí Nguyên will meet Grigoriy Lomakin from Kazakhstan and Goran Markovic from Serbia.

The total prize of the tournament is US$25,000. — VNS
