HÀ NỘI — Joshua Carrino won the fourth stage of the VTV International Cycling Tournament – Tôn Hoa Sen Cup yesterday.
Carrino from Philippine Navy overtook his rivals in the final metres to take the 197km stage from Vinh City of Nghệ An Province to Đồng Hới City of Quảng Bình Province.
Huỳnh Thanh Tùng of the Military Zone 7 and Ali Khademi of Lộc Trời Group finished second and third, respectively.
Carrino holds the red jersey as the King of Mountain, while Nguyễn Đắc Thời of Hà Nội leads the race and has the yellow jersey for best overall time.
Today, cyclists will compete in the fifth stage, a 10km individual time trial in Đồng Hới City.
The event attracted 80 cyclists from six domestic cycling teams and six from overseas clubs, competing over 14 stages covering 1,800km. They started from Hà Nội on September 2 and will finish in HCM City on September 16. — VNS
