HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam will leave for China’s Asian U23 Football Championship on January 1, eight days before the tournament begins.

The 28 players who gathered together yesterday will train in Hà Nội for nearly a week before coach Park Hang-seo picks 23 players to compete at the event.

Việt Nam will stay in Jiangsu Province and play a friendly against Palestine as a final warm-up on January 4.

The championship is from January 9-27 with the participation of 16 teams.

Việt Nam are in Group D with powerhouses South Korea, Australia and Syria. — VNS
