HÀ NỘI — FLC Thanh Hóa have introduced five new players, who were expected to help the team lift their performance at the next V.League season.
The league’s first runner-up on Sunday added midfielders Nguyễn Minh Tùng and Bùi Văn Hiếu from Quảng Ninh Coal, defender Nguyễn Xuân Thành from Becamex Bình Dương, midfielder Trịnh Quang Vinh from HCM City and defender Phạm Văn Nam from Nam Định.
These players will give more choices to the managers of the team, which are preparing for the Asian Football Confederation Champions League next year. Thanh Hóa will also play a qualification round match against Eastern SC from Hong Kong on January 23.
Earlier, in an attempt to improve players’ fitness, Thanh Hóa signed a short-term contract with 36-year-old German trainer Dominic Palmer.
Palmer previously worked at Real Madrid’s training centre in Germany and at Rah Ahan Club in Iran.
He also worked with Việt Nam’s U19 team in early November. — VNS
