HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam topped the sixth Asian Aerobics Championship, which closed on Sunday in Mongolia.
Vietnamese athletes competed in all age categories and pocketed 12 gold and six silver medals during the five-day tournament, which saw some 200 competitors from 10 countries
Among the gold medalists are Hoàng Gia Bảo in the boys’ 12-14 year-old category, Phan Thảo Yến in the girls’ 12-14 age group and Nguyễn Chế Thanh in the boys’ 15-17 category. Apart from individual medals, the doubles and groups of three and five were also successful.
“We have completed our task and did a good job bagging the No 1 spot,” said Phạm Thùy Linh, head of Aerobics Department of the National Sports Administration.
“Hope it will be a strong force to boost the development of the sport in the countries,” she added. — VNS
