The Việt Nam Youth Team defeated Thailand's U18 squad 25-15, 17-25, 25-16, 25-20 at the VTV Cup, an international women’s volleyball tournament, yesterday in Hải Dương City.

HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam Youth Team defeated Thailand’s U18 squad 25-15, 17-25, 25-16, 25-20 at the VTV Cup, an international women’s volleyball tournament, yesterday in Hải Dương City.

In Group B’s second match, the Japanese student team trounced Indonesia’s national team 25-8, 25-10, 25-16.

It was the second group round match. In the first round on Saturday, Thailand lost 25-11, 25-6, 25-12 to Indonesia.

Following these results, Japan top the group, followed by Việt Nam Youth and Indonesia. Thailand sit at the bottom with two losses.

In tonight’s action, the Việt Nam Youth team will meet Japan, while in Group A, Beijing University will face Suwon club from South Korea. — VNS
