HÀ NỘI — Hanoi Buffaloes leveled a 1-1 score with Thai powerhouse Hitech in the second play-off match yesterday in the Thailand Super Basketball League in Bangkok.

The Vietnamese team beat Hitech 101-87, an overthrow after they lost 73-99 on Saturday.

The Buffaloes were better from the beginning and ended the first quarter at 25-19.

Hitech proved their power in the second quarter and narrowed the score when the Buffaloes’ Đạt "Doc" was injured and Matthew Van Pelt left with a nosebleed. The score was 46-45 for the visitors.

The third quarter saw Hitech’s rising in the first minutes, but their captain, A.Scharer, had a bad day and the entire team leaned on Q Alexander.

The Buffaloes, on the other hand, played well in the last two quarters, with Justin Young and Steven Demon Thomas scoring many points.

The game ended 101-87 and forced the two sides to play a third match tomorrow.

The Buffaloes became the third team in the tournament, after Mono Vampire and Mono Thew, to defeat Hitech. The Vietnamese club and Mono Vampire had been the only two to score more than 100 points against Hitech this season. — VNS
