HÀ NỘI — SHB Đà Nẵng are ready to compete with Yadanarbon of Myanmar in the second match of the Toyota Mekong Club Championship’s preliminary round on Friday at Hà Nội’s Mỹ Đình Stadium.

To prepare for the match, Đà Nẵng tested themselves in several friendly tournaments, beating Uganda’s SC Villa 2-1 and tying with Becamex Bình Dương 1-1. They have recruited footballers Hà Đức Chinh, Mạc Đức Việt Anh and Bùi Tiến Dụng for the tournament.

Earlier, Đà Nẵng — who were the runners-up of the BTV- Number 1 Cup 2016 — suffered a 1-2 upset against Lanexang United of Laos in the first match.

Meanwhile, it is Yadanarbon’s first match of the tournament.

The Championship will be held from November 5 to January 8 next year in each of the five Mekong countries.

The total prize money for this year’s tournament--funded by Toyota Motor Asia Pacific in 2014 under the Toyota Mekong Football Project--is US$173,000, of which $75,000 will be presented to the overall champion. — VNS
