HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam will have one representative at the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) Champions League in the next two years.

Việt Nam are number 16 in the continent and second in the ASEAN, according to the AFC. The number of clubs participating in the AFC tournament remains unchanged.

National premier league champions Hà Nội T&T will compete from the pre-qualification round. In case they fail, they will move to the AFC Cup’s group round. If Hà Nội T&T win a berth in the Champions League’s group round, the AFC Cup’s berth will go to another Vietnamese club, to be identified later.

The AFC also reports that National Cup winner Quảng Ninh Coal FC will play at the Cup’s group stage. — VNS
