National record smashed at national swimming champs

Three national records were set up in the same category of the men’s 800m freestyle at the National Swimming Championship at the Aquatic Sports Palace in Hà Nội yesterday.

HÀ NỘI — A national record was smashed three times in the men’s 800m freestyle at the National Swimming Championships at the Aquatic Sports Palace in Hà Nội yesterday.

Trần Tân Triều of Long An won in a time of 8:11.64, beating the old record of 8:16.49.

Nguyễn Huy Hoàng of Quảng Bình came second with a time of 8:11.75, while Lâm Quang Nhật of HCM City 8:12.44

After four days of competition, HCM City lead with 10 golds, seven silvers and four bronzes. An Giang rank second with six golds, four silvers and four bronzes. While Quảng Bình is third with six golds, two silvers and three bronzes.
