HÀ NỘI — Lý Hoàng Nam and Nguyễn Hoàng Thiên advanced to the semi-finals of the Vietnam F1 Men’s Futures yesterday in Bình Dương Province.
The host duo defeated No 2 seed pair Antoine Escoffier and Jonathan Kanar of France 6-2, 7-6 (5).
Next they will play Indonesian Christopher Rungkat and David Agung Susanton who won 6-2, 6-4 over Wishaya Trongcharo and Kittiphong Wachiramai from Thailand in another quarter-final match.
In the singles category yesterday, Nam, the only Vietnamese player left at the tournament, was eliminated. He lost 2-6, 7-5, 1-6 to No 1 player Hong Seong Chan from South Korea in the quarter-final match which was delayed nearly one hour due to rain. — VNS
