HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam have been drawn in Group C of the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup,. The draw took place at Medellin’s Plaza Mayor Conference Centre, Colombia yesterday morning.
The team will face Italy, Guatemala and Paraguay in the group.
Việt Nam will meet Guatemala on September 11 and Paraguay on September 14, with both games in Cali city, and Italy on September 17 in Bucaramanga city.
According to Việt Nam’s coach Bruno Garcia, Việt Nam aims to reach the quarterfinals.
The Cup, which features 24 teams, will take place from September 10 to October 1 in Colombia.
Việt Nam qualified for the World Cup for the first time after defeating reigning Asian champions Japan in the quarterfinals of the AFC Futsal Championship in February.
Việt Nam’s players will prepare for the event at a training camp in Japan. — VNS
