HÀ NỘI — Defending champion HCM City 1 tied 1-1 with Phong Phú Hà Nam in the fourth round of the National Women’s Football Championships in northern Hà Nam Province on Thursday.
The two teams played an attacking game right from the start of the match. The first opportunity arose in the 18th minute when visiting team HCM City’s Phan Thị Trang scored a goal from a pass by Huỳnh Như.
In the 57th minute, taking full advantage of a HCM City defender’s error, Nguyễn Thị Liễu levelled the score for Hà Nam.
Hà Nam played more aggressively but were unable to score again.
With this draw, Hà Nam with 10 points are temporarily at first spot out of the eight teams in the rankings, followed by HCM City 1 with eight points and Hà Nội 1 with seven points.
In the other match, Việt Nam Coal and Mineral easily beat HCM City 2 2-0 thanks to the efforts of Nguyễn Thị Hạnh and Phạm Thị Hằng. — VNS
