HÀ NỘI – Việt Nam won three gold medals at the two-day Taiwan Athletics Open yesterday.
Hoàng Thị Ngọc finished in the women’s 400m event with a time of 53.79sec.
Malaysian Shereen Samson Vallabouy and Nurul Faizah Asma Mazlan came second and third, respectively.
Earlier, Vũ Thị Ly triumphed in the women’s 1500m category, with a time of 4:30.27.
Son Hui Kim and Chun Mi Kim, all from North Korea, took silver and bronze.
The last gold went to Dương Văn Thái who won the men’s 1,500m. The Vietnamese team also pocketed a silver in the women’s long jump.
Bùi Thị Thu Thảo came second with a result of 6.12m, much worse than her gold medal result of 6.59m that she had in Singapore last month.
Parinya Chuaimaroeng of Thailand bagged her gold with only 1cm longer than Thảo.
Host Huang Shih-han earned the bronze, jumping 5.94m. -- VNS
